Title: Purchase of Four Emergency Response Vehicles and One Medical Response Vehicle (All Additions) for the Mesa Fire and Medical Department (Citywide) The four ambulances will provide life-saving transportation capabilities. The Medical Response Unit (MRU) will respond to all medical emergencies relieving wear and tear on larger emergency response vehicles. On May 20, 2019, Council ratified an emergency purchase of five truck chassis, due to issues in the vehicle supply chain. The new emergency medical vehicles will be shipped to Horton, the body manufacturer, to be installed on the chassis that the City purchased. The Mesa Fire and Medical Department and Purchasing recommend authorizing the purchase using the Houston-Galveston Area Council (H-GAC) cooperative contract with Professional Sales & Service, L.C., at $1,304,964.10, based on estimated requirements. This purchase is funded by the Ambulance Transport Fund.
