Purchase of a Portable X-Ray System (Replacement) for the Mesa Police Department (Sole Source) (Citywide)
X-ray systems are the primary tool for the bomb technician for examining suspicious devices. This system is versatile x-ray equipment with the ability to scan small items, and when used with a mosaic system (multiple x-ray plates), it can be used to scan larger items and devices.
City staff and Purchasing recommend awarding the contract to the sole source vendor, Scanna MSC, Inc., at $30,547.11. This purchase is grant funded by the Arizona Department of Homeland Security ($30,000) and by the Police Department operating budget ($547.11).
