Three-Year Term Contract with Two Years of Renewal Options for Extrication Personal Protective Equipment for the Mesa Fire and Medical Department (MFMD) (Sole Source) (Citywide)
This contract will provide Ladder crews with extrication turnouts to eliminate exposure to carcinogens while reducing cardiac stress and fatigue. Based on testing and performance, MFMD has specified the Fire-Dex brand equipment.
The Mesa Fire and Medical Department and Purchasing recommend awarding the contract to the sole source vendor, Municipal Emergency Services, at $60,000 annually, with an annual increase allowance of up to 5%, or the adjusted Consumer Price Index. The initial purchase of 72 Extrication Turnouts (Additions) is partially funded by 100 Club of Arizona Enhancement Stipend Award ($47,132).
