This equipment will detect and localize radiation sources generated by manmade devices such as nuclear weapons, improvised nuclear devices, or radiological dispersal devices.  The equipment being replaced has reached the end of the manufacturer recommended usage life. 

The Mesa Fire and Medical Department and Purchasing recommend authorizing the purchase from the responsive and responsible bidder, Thermo Eberline, LLC, at $65,555.71.
