The previous contractor was defaulted for failure to perform per the specifications in their contract. The City terminated the contract effective 6/30/2021, and a new Request for Proposals has been issued, targeted to be awarded in October of 2021.

The emergency purchases were necessary to ensure public health and safety, and solicitation for these services. The accumulation of trash and debris within these contracted areas if not maintained create health and safety issues to the public and City employees.

The Parks, Recreation and Community Facilities Department and Purchasing recommend ratifying the purchase with Mariposa Landscape of Arizona Inc., at $236,000.
