Purchase of 36 Mobile Vehicle Routers (Additions), Related Equipment and Services for the Mesa Fire and Medical Department (MFMD) (Citywide)
This purchase will enable MFMD to outfit the remaining fleet of pumpers, ladders, chief vehicles, and other emergency vehicles, with mobile dispatch computers. These routers allow MFMD to seamlessly switch between either AT&T FirstNet or Verizon, based on which LTE carrier has the best signal strength in the area, making sure crews always stay connected to the Mesa Regional Dispatch Center.
The Mesa Fire and Medical Department and Purchasing recommend authorizing the purchase using the State of Arizona cooperative contract with Discount Cell, Inc., at $94,202.66, based on estimated requirements. This purchase is funded by the Capital General Fund.
