Southern Avenue, Greenfield Road to Higley Road - Arterial Roadway Improvements Project (District 2)
The project will upgrade the asphalt pavement, underground utilities, ADA facilities, and sidewalks along Southern Avenue. The project will also reconstruct the intersection at Southern Avenue and Higley Road, widening the west leg of the intersection and providing improved bike and pedestrian connectivity.
Staff recommends awarding the contract for this project to the lowest, responsible bidder, Nesbitt Contracting Company, Inc., in the amount of $5,571,298.15, and authorize a change order allowance in the amount of $557,130 (10%), for a total award of $6,128,428.15. This project is funded by 2013 authorized Street bonds and 2010 authorized Gas bonds.
