Title: Three-Year Term Contract with Two Years of Renewal Options for Water Meters and Related Parts for the Water Resources Department (Citywide) This contract provides three types of advanced metering infrastructure-compatible water meters, positive displacement meters, fire hydrant meters and non-mechanical meters. The average expected life of a water meter is approximately 10 to 12 years, after which accuracy decreases. The City has an active meter change-out program to replace older and non-functioning meters. The evaluation committee recommends awarding the contract to the highest-scored proposals from Badger Meter, Inc., dba National Meter & Automation; and Core & Main LP; at $1,800,000 annually, with an annual increase allowance of up to 5%, or the adjusted Producer Price Index. This purchase is funded by the Utility Replacement Extension & Renewal Fund, Operations and Maintenance budget, and Capital Improvement Program Bond Funds.
