One-Year Renewal with a One-Year Renewal Option to the Term Contract for Video Imaging Vehicle Detection Camera System Hardware and Software for the Transportation Department (Sole Source) (Citywide)
This contract provides video detection systems for monitoring vehicles on roadways via video images and detector outputs to a traffic signal controller or similar device. GRIDSMART systems provide a unique fisheye camera for vehicle detection that is advantageous for specific signalized intersections in the City. The systems are also beneficial in construction zones where the detection system may need to be moved frequently because of changes in the traffic patterns and the removal of poles and mast arms where cameras are typically mounted.
The Transportation Department and Purchasing recommend authorizing the renewal with the sole source vendor, Clark Electric Sales, Inc., at $137,000 annually, with an annual increase allowance of up to 5%, or the adjusted Consumer Price Index.
