Purchase to Glycerin Based Supplemental Source for the Water Resources Department (Sole Source) (Citywide)
This purchase is for a glycerin-based supplemental carbon source, a temporary carbon source for use at the Northwest Water Reclamation Plant during the inspection of the methanol tank and repair of the fill line used for the tank. This product is a safe alternate to use as a substitute for methanol. The risk is too high to use methanol in temporary containers and piping while the work is being completed.
The Water Resources Department and Purchasing recommend authorizing the purchase using the City of Scottsdale cooperative contract with Environmental Operating Solutions, Inc., at $108,000.
