Upgrade Purchase of Microsoft Windows 10 User-Based Licenses for City Departments (excluding the Police Department) as requested by the Information Technology Department (Citywide)
This purchase will allow the upgrade of 2,935 City computers from Windows 7 to Windows 10. Upgrading to Windows 10 ensures City PCs remain current in receiving the latest operating system patches and updates from Microsoft, which will provide improved operating system security and system performance. Licenses for the Police Department will be requested in the future as application compatibility is addressed.
The Information Technology Department and Purchasing recommend authorizing the purchase using the State cooperative contract with CDW Government LLC, at $102,582.48.
