Purchase of Three Replacement CNG Powered Heavy-Duty Front Loading Refuse Trucks for the Environmental Management and Sustainability Department (Citywide)
The vehicles being replaced have met established replacement criteria and will be retired and sold at auction. These vehicles are used for the collection of the City’s commercial accounts. Fleet and Solid Waste Management are replacing existing diesel with CNG refuse trucks as part of the conversion of the fleet to CNG.
The Fleet Services and Environmental Management and Sustainability Departments, and Purchasing recommend authorizing purchase from the existing contract with Rush Truck Centers of Arizona, Inc., dba Rush Truck Center, Phoenix, at $1,057,584.96. This purchase is funded by the Utility Replacement Extension and Renewal Fund.
