Seven-Month Term Contract with Two Years of Renewal Options for a Glycerin Based Carbon Source for the Water Resources Department (Citywide)
This contract will provide a glycerin-based carbon source, Vita-MicroC 2000, to use in place of methanol. Originally, glycerin was only meant to replace methanol while the tank was being repaired; however, Water Resources has decided to discontinue methanol and use glycerin in its place.
The Water Resources Department and Purchasing recommend authorizing the purchase using the City of Chandler cooperative contract with Momar, Inc., at $245,000 through June 30, 2019, and $450,000 annually thereafter, with an annual increase allowance of up to 5%, or the adjusted Consumer Price Index.
